Evelyn Fritz passed away January 7, 2024, in Fredericksburg, TX.

Evelyn was born June 27, 1939, in Stonewall, TX.  She was the daughter of Felix and Agatha Scheele Riba.  She has been a member through the years of Cherry Mountain School House, FHS Band Booster, and an Outstanding 4-H Adult Leader.

Evelyn graduated from Fredericksburg High School in May 1957 and married Aaron L. Fritz on October 12, 1957.  Aaron preceded her in death May 24, 2013.

Evelyn was a well-known seamstress in the Texas Hill Country and was even known to sew special request items for some of the Dallas Cowboy Football team members through the years.  She won many awards at the Gillespie County Fair showing her amazing talent in quilting.  She was a dedicated mother and wife and took care of all the family needs at the Fritz household which included great home cooked meals and wrangling in the four Fritz’s.

In the early 2000’s when her husband retired from the construction company Evelyn and Aaron started farming and ranching full time.  Evelyn loved her deer, cattle, sheep and tending to her yard and flowers.  She especially loved her chickens.

Evelyn is survived by three sons and their spouses:  Kevin and Susan Fritz, Quinn and Kimberly Fritz, and Darin Fritz, all of Fredericksburg, TX.  Four grandchildren: Karin Fritz, Kody & Melissa Fritz, Katie & Ty Klepac, Colton & M’Call Fritz.  Great grandchildren:  Taylor & Allie Fritz, Kaden & Knox Klepac, Kinsler & Laikyn Fritz.

One sister and three brothers: Al and Betty Riba of Stonewall

Nawona and Dave Keen of North Carolina

Johnathan Riba of Arlington, Texas

George and Maggie Riba of Dallas

11 nieces and nephews

Sister-in-law Dortha Fae Staudt & preceded in death by brother-in-law Rudy Staudt,  

parents, One brother: F. Allen Riba and sister in law: Delores Riba

The family will greet friends on Thursday, January 11th from 1 to 2 P.M. in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Mass of Resurrection at 2 P.M. 

Graveside services and interment will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be given in her memory to the Cherry Mtn. School, St. Mary’s School Endowment Fund or charity of your choice.
